Important information

If you do volunteer work, you are not always properly insured. That is why the municipality has taken out volunteer insurance. As a volunteer, you are automatically insured with this insurance. This means that you are insured if you have an accident or cause damage.

Good to know:

  • Volunteer insurance is also called "safety net" insurance. It is a second (secondary) coverage. This means that the volunteer's own liability insurance, or that of the institution for which he or she performs the activities, always takes precedence over the municipality's volunteer insurance.
  • We recommend that you do not cancel your own insurance.

For better and faster treatment, the congregation requests at least:
  • Details of the damage you suffered (time, location, etc.)
  • Any supporting documents you can attach.

Note!
  • This does not apply to volunteers who engage through an organization. For example, if a volunteer and an organization find each other on a digital platform and work is done.
  • If you volunteer with the fire or police departments, you are not insured through this insurance.
  • You can report the claim to us if it is not covered on another non-life insurance policy.
