Allowing pigeons to fledge should not be done at any time. This is because in the spring, feral pigeons often cause damage to farmers' fields. Therefore, the municipality can set a period during which you must keep your pigeons inside so that hunters can thin out the number of feral pigeons. This period can last a week, but also, for example, one day a week. The municipality consults with homing pigeon associations about this in advance. You can apply to the municipality for an exemption if you want to release your pigeons outside these times.
