Important information

You can ask the municipality to designate a property or structure as a municipal monument.

Good to know:

Whether your property can become a monument depends on its "architectural value in historical context. The following are important here:

  • Is the architectural style of the property recognizable for a particular period?
  • Is the architectural style special or rare?
  • Did famous people live in the property?
  • Does the property have features that are special to the region?
For better and faster treatment, the congregation requests at least:
  • The architect.
  • The architectural style.
  • The year of construction.
  • Archaeological finds.
  • Key previous residents.
  • Important historical events that took place in or around your property.
Note!
  • As an owner, you cannot submit an application to designate your property as a national monument.
  • Don't want your property to be designated a municipal protected monument? Then file an objection with the municipality. Do so within 6 weeks of the announcement of the designation.
