WS-2046-2 Applying for a sewer connection with eHerkenning

Is your home or business not yet connected to the sewer system? Or have you built a new house or commercial building? Then you can apply for a sewer connection from the municipality. The municipality will arrange for the connection of the public sewer system to private property.

Good to know:

• The municipality will take care of the connection up to the boundary of your property. You are responsible for installing the sewerage system on your own property.
• There are two types of sewer connections: combined systems and separate systems. Would you like to connect to a separate system? Then you will need a double connection for the discharge of waste water and rainwater.
• The installation depth is determined by the municipality. This depends in part on the elevation of gas and water mains.
• In the municipality, green PVC pipes are used for clean water connections (HWA) and gray PVC pipes for waste water connections (DWA).
• Each applicant (owner) must install a drain cleaning access point in the pipe on their own property, just behind the property line.

For better and faster treatment, the congregation requests at least:

• The number of connections and the type of sewer connection (separate or combined).
• The cadastral data of the connection.
• The size of the sewer.
• Size of surface to be connected.
• The maximum discharge per day.

After the application:

After applying for a sewer connection, you will receive a quote from the municipality as soon as possible. Once you have paid the amount stated in this quote, an appointment will be made with you to discuss the date of installation. As a rule, this will take place within one to two weeks after payment has been made.
