Festive start of new school year at Wassenaar elementary schools

The time had come on Monday, September 1: the first school day of the new school year. At several elementary schools in Wassenaar this day was celebrated extra festively. For many children it was an exciting moment: a new class, a new teacher or master and sometimes even a whole new building.

To make this start special, the aldermen were also present. At the Montessori School, the teachers cut the ribbon of the classrooms in which the students will be taught this school year. Alderman Education Ritske Bloemendaal also attended. "A new school year is always a great time full of opportunities and expectations. It is important that children feel welcome and enjoy going to school, because a good start makes a big difference to their development," Bloemendaal said.

First day of school at Bloemcamp School and Herenweg School

At the Bloemcamp School, Alderman Laurens van Doeveren was present, where students, along with the teachers, officially opened the school year by raising the flag. At the Herenwegschool, Alderman Ronald Zoutendijk helped provide a festive welcome, with music and cheerful greetings at the door.

The community stresses the importance of working with schools and parents to start the school year on a positive note. A first day full of fun, meeting and a warm welcome contributes to a good foundation for learning and cooperation.
