Economic vision Wassenaar
How do we strengthen the entrepreneurial and business climate in Wassenaar and how do we strengthen local and regional partnerships? To give substance to this, the municipality of Wassenaar, together with entrepreneurs, interest groups and regional partners, has drawn up a new Economic Vision. The vision translates challenges (lack of space, aging workforce, vacancy) into concrete opportunities and offers entrepreneurs a future perspective.
Clear course for a vital village
The Economic Vision 2025 provides direction for a powerful and sustainable economic policy for Wassenaar. In order to make the direction of the economic policy clear and feasible, it has been elaborated into seven themes on which to focus. These themes have been translated into a dynamic implementation agenda for the coming years.
With this vision, the municipality is committed to a lively and attractive center, where residents and visitors like to come and stay. At the same time, space is created for local business activity that does not fit right next to residential areas, so that these enterprises can also flourish. A healthy local economy is essential for society: employment, social contribution and facilities close to home. Where living and working can go hand in hand, the municipality actively encourages this combination. In this way, together we build a future-proof village that benefits all its inhabitants.

On Sept. 2, at a meeting with local entrepreneurs, the first copy of the Economic Vision (then still in draft form) was presented to Hans Biesheuvel, founder of Ondernemend Nederland (ONL).
Outlook
The municipality will work with stakeholders to flesh out the ambitions in the implementation agenda arising from the vision.
