Wassenaar loses a beloved fellow villager: Joke Bruijs (73)

With sadness, the municipality of Wassenaar has learned of the death of Joke Bruijs, at the age of 73.

Joke lived in Wassenaar for thirty years and was a well-known and beloved village resident. She was a versatile actress and singer who enjoyed national fame, but also performed regularly in Wassenaar. In 2019, for example, she spoke candidly about her life and career in Theater Warenar during the series Bekende Streekgenoten.

Mayor Leendert de Lange: "We are grateful that the Rotterdam-based Joke Bruijs was part of our community for so long. Her warmth, humor and great talent will be remembered in Wassenaar. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and all who loved her."
