KIES Group

KIES is a play and talk group for children going through their parents' divorce. Children learn to better understand the divorce and their own emotions. The group consists of 8 meetings.

  • Date: starts on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025. Continued dates: January 21, January 28, February 4,February 11, February 18, March 4, March 11. And in the fall start on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Continued dates: Sept. 16, Sept. 23, Sept. 30, Oct. 7, Oct. 14, Oct. 28, Nov. 4.
  • Time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
  • Location: Van Heeckerenhuis Wassenaar - van Heeckerenstraat 2
  • Target audience: children from grade 4 through grade 6.

'Grief and mourning' group.

People facing the death of a loved one often feel they are alone. This is not surprising. After all, attention is not always paid to the loss and the grief that results.

In the 'grief and mourning' discussion group for adults (18+) you meet others who have lost a loved one. Social workers from Kwadraad guide the group. Themes covered are: the loss, the farewell, the environment, personal challenges and sources of strength.

  • Date: We start on Monday, September 8 next and the meetings are every two weeks on Monday afternoons from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. There will be a total of six meetings.
  • Location: The discussion group takes place at the CJG building in Wassenaar, Rijksstraatweg 324a.
  • Target group: The group is for people who live in Wassenaar and have lost someone close to them. For example, your partner, family member or dear friend.
  • Cost: None
  • Information and application: You can apply until August 30, 2025 at www.kwadraad.nl. When joining the group, an intake meeting with Aniel or Charlotte will take place first.

Hold me

A course to improve your (partner) relationship. You learn to look differently at patterns in your relationship, stop negative patterns and recognize the underlying emotions and needs. The course consists of 8 sessions.

  • Date: starts on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025. Continued dates: Feb. 4, Feb. 11, Feb. 18, March 4, March 11, March 18, March 25. Spring start on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Continuation dates: May 13, May 20, May 27, June 3, June 10, June 17, June 24. In the fall, starts on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025. Continuation dates: Oct. 2, Oct. 9, Oct. 16, Oct. 30, Nov. 6, Nov. 13, Nov. 20.
  • Time: 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Location: Center for Youth and Family (CJG) - Rijksstraatweg 324
  • Target audience: adults
  • Cost: €45 for materials to be purchased

Rock and Water

This training is designed for children from Wassenaar in groups 5 to 8 of elementary school. Rots & Water is a social competence and resilience training for children in groups 5 to 8 of elementary school. The training uses a psycho-physical method, in which action such as play, body exercises and self-defense forms are interspersed with moments of self-reflection and circle discussions. Children learn by doing, feeling and experiencing, allowing them to better understand what they are learning and apply it in their daily lives. The course consists of 8 meetings.

  • Date: start after fall break and spring break
  • Time: Wednesdays from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
  • Location: Wassenaar Municipal Office, Johan de Wittstraat 45
  • Target audience: children from grade 5 through grade 8.  
  • Cost: €35.

Fear the boss

A training that offers children tools to deal with their (fear of failure) and insecurity and increases their sense of self-confidence. The training consists of 6 meetings.

  • Date: starts on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Continued dates: May 20, May 27, June 3, June 10, June 17. In the fall, start on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Continuation dates: Nov. 18, Nov. 25, Dec. 2, Dec. 9, Dec. 16.
  • Time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
  • Location: Van Heeckerenhuis Wassenaar - van Heeckerenstraat 2
  • Target audience: children from grades 6 through 8.
  • Cost: None

Girls' Work

Girls' work is a safe place where girls can come together and talk about real girl things. Creative activities are done and there is room for your own input and ideas. Youth workers are always present to guide the evening. 

  • Date: every other week on Mondays. Girls' work is an ongoing offering.
  • Time: 6:45 - 8:15 p.m.
  • Location: Youth Center Upstairs - Dr. Mansveltkade 9
  • Target audience: all girls aged 10 to 16 years old
  • Cost: None
  • Information and registration: through the gro-up website. 

Walk-in 'upstairs'

The youth center 'Boven' is the place for all young people from Wassenaar to have a good time together. You can go there for different games, gaming, music or just chilling. There is always a youth worker there to help you. 

  • Date and times: Tuesday afternoon between 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.: 11 to 14 years old, Thursday evening between 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.: 14 to 18 years old, Friday evening between 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.: 14 to 18 years old
  • Location: Youth Center Upstairs - Dr. Mansveltkade 9
  • Target group: All young people in Wassenaar from 11 to 18 years of age.
  • Cost: none
  • Information and registration: through the gro-up website.
