Flexible working and a good home office

A full work week is 36 hours per week. We have a system of flexible working hours. This means that you decide for yourself when your working day begins and ends and that you arrange your working week in consultation with your manager: for example, working four times nine hours or four times eight and one morning. For a number of positions (think of public functions, technical positions) the flexibility is limited.

We make sure you can do your work at home well, with the right equipment for a healthy work environment. Among other things, we arrange this with a handy home office checklist and an allowance of up to €800.00 net, once every five years, to furnish your home office.

Salary

Classification, depending on knowledge and experience, takes place in the starting scale or the job scale of the position. Each scale consists of 12 periodicals (0 to 11). As long as the maximum of the scale has not yet been reached, if you perform fully, independently and satisfactorily, you will receive a periodic salary increase each year. If you perform excellently, there are opportunities to appreciate this financially as well.

Individual Choice Budget

With us, you get an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17.05% on top of your salary. This consists of 8% (vacation allowance), 1.5% (life-course savings) and 7.55% (end-of-year bonus). You can use this budget for various purposes. If you have children or are a caregiver, you may need extra leave hours. Or you want to take a course, or save for a major expense. You can use your budget for one or more of the following purposes:

  • buy additional leave hours
  • get extra money by having it paid out
  • financing training
  • financing a bicycle
  • union dues
  • sports fees
  • sustainability measures

In addition to these stated purposes, once every 5 years you may be eligible for an allowance for the purchase of a bicycle and accessories. This reimbursement amounts to €250.00 net.

Training and career development

During your career in our municipality you will have regular progress meetings with your manager. The interview cycle always devotes explicit attention to development agreements. Where am I now, where do I want to go and how do I get there? You and your manager agree on the actions you will take to answer these questions. This serves as a guideline for your career and helps you make important choices. There are many opportunities to develop yourself. For example, you will have access to the Wassenaar Academy: our learning platform where you can follow e-learnings, register for classroom courses and easily keep track of your development. This is how we want you to grow in a role that suits you best and matches your wishes. You can also seek advice from a career advisor, we make development agreements concrete in a development plan, and we encourage (self)reflection, for example through the use of 360 degree feedback.

Retirement

Pension and disability provisions are handled by the ABP. The ABP elective pension offers many possibilities. Retiring earlier, varying the amount paid out, continuing to work part-time: it's all possible with this pension.

Leave / vacations

Basic leave is 201.6 hours (144 hours statutory and 57.6 supervisory leave) and is prorated on the basis of employment. There is also a possibility of saving leave (see article 6.3 from the CLA). You can also buy any additional days off from your Individual Choice Budget (IKB).

Travel and home office allowance

We think sustainability is important! Think of sustainable employability of you as a colleague, but also sustainable dealing with our beautiful environment. For that reason we reimburse the full public transport costs if you come by public transport. If you come on foot, by (electric) bike, speed pedelec, electric scooter or electric/hybrid car, you will receive a travel allowance in accordance with the tax-free mileage allowance established by the tax authorities. If you use other transportation, you will receive half of this allowance. For the days you work at home, you will receive a home office allowance in accordance with Article 3.22a of the collective bargaining agreement for municipalities of €3.00 net per day.

Sports fee

We encourage healthy living. Therefore, each year you can be reimbursed up to a maximum of €300.00 gross per year for the costs you incur for sports activities that promote your health. If you start later in the year, the amount is allocated proportionally.

Health Insurance

You will receive an allowance for the cost of health insurance. You are entitled to an allowance of €168,- or €296,- gross per year (€296,- for a salary lower than or equal to the maximum of scale 6). This contribution makes no distinction according to the size of the employment. You can also take advantage of a group discount on your supplementary health insurance.
