Centennial of Council House De Paauw

On September 12, 13 and 14, the municipality of Wassenaar will celebrate a special anniversary: Council House De Paauw has been the administrative center of the village for a century. This will be celebrated with a festive weekend in and around the Town Hall, in the middle of the beautiful De Paauw Estate. An event, organized by the municipality of Wassenaar, for all Wassenaarders, with a varied program for young and old.

Friday, Sept. 12

The party weekend will begin on Friday with a festive official opening in the afternoon. This will be followed by a large party on the lawn in front of Council House De Paauw. DJs and light effects will ensure an unforgettable evening. The event is free for everyone and lasts until 11 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 13

On Saturday there is plenty to do for children around Council House De Paauw. Take part in the play-along theater of Theatralala, have fun during creative workshops and play old Dutch games. Around 11:00 there is a festive prize-giving ceremony for the coloring contest. You can also enjoy water fun at the Fire Department Museum or pedal on the Paauwvijver. Be sure to come dressed up, because that makes it even more fun!

Sunday, Sept. 14

On Sunday, music will be heard in the Raadzaal of Raadhuis De Paauw, where two mini-operas of Rossini's The Barber of Seville will be performed. Between performances there will be a musical interlude: Haagse Salon. Ticket sales have started at www.minioperawassenaar.nl. Be there in time, as seats are limited.

Open Monument Day

Saturday, September 13, is also Open Monument Day.
