Wassenaar municipality opens new meeting place on Duynsteelaan
The Municipality of Wassenaar has officially opened the renovated meeting place/playground on Duynsteelaan. The opening was performed by Alderman Koetsier.
Participation with the neighborhood
The existing playground equipment in the playground was outdated and in need of replacement. That is why the municipality had three new designs made and shared them with the neighborhood. Residents were able to vote for their favorite design via a neighborhood participation app. The design with the pirate ship and cable car received the most support with 60.2% of the votes and was subsequently realized.
The renovated playground has been designed as a meeting place.
With this facility, the municipality aims to improve the play area for children and young people while also providing space for inclusive play. Last Wednesday, the playground was festively reopened with coffee, tea, lemonade, and snacks. There was a large turnout from the neighborhood, and the afternoon was considered a great success.
