Peaceful New Year's Eve celebrations in Wassenaar

The New Year's celebrations in Wassenaar went smoothly. Mayor Leendert de Lange accompanied the police and looks back on a good start to the new year. The well-organized bonfire in Het Kerkehout brought the neighborhood together.  

Mayor Leendert de Lange: "The New Year's celebrations in our municipality were pleasant and festive. This is thanks to the excellent preparation and active efforts of our emergency services, all of whom fortunately returned home safe and sound. Together with our residents, we ensured a safe start to the new year."

No arrests were made in Wassenaar. 

New Year's reception

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., the New Year's reception will be held at Raadhuis De Paauw, Raadhuislaan 22. Everyone is welcome to join us there to ring in the new year.
