How do I know if the municipality has issued a traffic ordinance?
Traffic decisions are published in the digital edition of the Government Gazette. This can be viewed via the website Official Notices. After publication, a traffic decision is available for public inspection for 6 weeks.
Through the website www.overheid.nl, you can receive an email when a traffic decision is published about a location near you.
To do this, you must complete the following steps:
- Go on the Internet to www.overheid.nl
- Click on the 'email service'
- Enter your email address, zip code and house number and click the black block next step
- Next to 'around an address', click on the '+' to select the categories for which you want to use the email service.
- Check the box behind traffic decision. You can, of course, check multiple categories. Then go to the next step.
- You will now see a map with a red dot at the address you entered
- You can specify the distance from the address you specify within which you want to receive notifications if a traffic decree or other decision has been published and then go to the next step.
- Choose which government agency you want to receive notifications from. In the case of traffic orders, not only the municipality is authorized to make traffic orders. Then go to the next step.
- A check menu will appear. If the data is correct you can confirm this by clicking confirm e-mail service. This will start the e-mail service. In the first mail from overheid.nl you will receive up to 200 messages published in the last 2 months.
