Candidacy on Jan. 31, 2022
Monday, January 31, 2022 is the day of nomination of candidates (Elections Act chapter H). The list of candidates must then be handed in between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. by a Wassenaar voter at the central polling station, Johan de Wittstraat 45. This voter is the party's (deputy) proxy, or another voter to whom this authority has been granted by the proxy (using the H3-1 form from OSV). Candidates may be present at the drop-off.
Candidate applications must be turned in by Jan. 31:
- Candidate list (model H1 is required!).
- Statements of consent from all candidates (H9).
- Copy of valid ID of candidates not yet on the municipal council
- Copy of valid ID of the submitter
Possibly:
- Statements of residence from candidates not residing in Wassenaar that they will reside in Wassenaar upon appointment
- Designation of authorized representative on H9 for candidates not residing in the Netherlands
- H3-1 form showing the authority of the person submitting the list (if authorized person does not submit the list himself)
- H3-2 form: statement by the authorized representatives showing authority to merge, if you submit one list of candidates together with another party
Parties that do not yet have seats on the council must also file:
- Proof of payment of deposit of candidacy of €225 (H14)
- 20 statements of support (H4).
On Tuesday, February 1, at 4 p.m., the central electoral committee, headed by the mayor, will hold a closed session to examine the lists of candidates. Following this examination, the person who handed in the list will receive a summary of any observed omissions by registered letter and by e-mail (Elections Law Chapter I). The documents submitted by the parties are made available for inspection by all voters.
Remedy absentee ballot until 5 p.m. on Feb. 3
If the documents you have handed in are found to be out of order, you can repair these omissions on Wednesday, Feb. 2 and Thursday, Feb. 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the municipal office, Johan de Wittstraat 45.
