The Climate Table to work together to make things more sustainable

Sustainability. You read this word more and more in the newspaper or online. Everyone has to deal with it. In Wassenaar too, residents and entrepreneurs are busy making their homes and surroundings more sustainable. And everyone benefits. Every effort to improve sustainability helps to improve our living environment and protect our planet. In this way we help each other and future generations. But what do we mean by sustainability? What tips & tricks are there? And who can I contact?

The Climate Table meeting is the place in Wassenaar where all the information, knowledge and experiences of individual local residents and neighborhood teams in the field of sustainability and energy transition come together. And where, while enjoying a snack and a drink, you can meet other residents and various experts. They can help you make your home and neighborhood more sustainable and give you energy to get started!

Circular economy, circularity or simply Circular Economy!

We all deal with it, stuff breaks and we buy something new. But that's not always necessary! There are many solutions to give something a new life. You have it fixed or you use parts for another device. Exchanging stuff is also a very nice initiative. 

Even in Wassenaar we are already busy with circularity. If you visited the last Climate Table on November 4, you have already heard a few things about this.

Of course there are also lots of initiatives from the rijksoverheid government after all we want to have a free circular economy in the Netherlands 2050. Get more inspiration at. 

Why Wassenaarders are becoming more sustainable now.

It is important to become sustainable now and not wait any longer, because, for example, now the neighborhood teams are up and running and you can benefit from the locally accumulated knowledge. And because now you can still benefit from subsidies and other schemes that will not always last. Therefore, take action now!

Valuable network of residents

In 2018, enthusiastic residents reported to the municipality with sustainable plans. There was a need for a joint network to inform each other, spar together and inspire each other to do something concrete about CO₂ emissions. And it works: now we help each other sharpen plans and achieve results. We have a lot of knowledge and expertise and are learning from each other. During the Climate Table meetings and beyond, we know how to find each other. Individually but also through neighborhood teams. This networking function is very valuable, because we can take concrete steps and help each other. We would also like to help you take steps.

Active support municipality of Wassenaar

The municipality helps resident initiatives by bringing people together so they can share their ideas. The municipality also supports with expertise. For example by involving external parties. Such as the organization Buurkracht that helps neighborhood energy teams with an insulation project, for example. The goal is to reduce CO₂ emissions in our municipality and to make Wassenaar more sustainable in general.
