Royal Honor for Prof. Auke de Bos

On Tuesday, June 9, Prof. Auke de Bos received a Royal Honor from Mayor Leendert de Lange. 

The ceremony took place at Wittenburg Castle to mark his departure from EY.

Auke de Bos has been dedicated to the accounting profession, good governance, and society for decades. Since 2006, he has held numerous administrative and supervisory positions, including in the areas of church administration, education, and culture.

He is a well-known and respected figure in the accounting sector. He serves as a board member and treasurer of the Foundation for Auditing Research and as a member of the NBA’s Public Interest Steering Group. He also plays a key role at the European level: as chair of Accountancy Europe’s Corporate Governance Policy Group, he contributes to the quality and transparency of audits in Europe.

In addition, De Bos is a lecturer and professor. He teaches financial auditing, instructs students in the supervisory board training program, and serves as a part-time professor of business economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Through his work as a lecturer, board member, and professional writer, he has made a significant contribution to the development of the accounting profession in the Netherlands.

The mayor presented him with the award in recognition of his many years of dedicated service to his field and to society as a whole.

Auke de Bos has been appointed a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
