New construction project Tuynen van Den Deyl
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the City Council gave a positive recommendation on the redevelopment of the former Den Deyl school into residential development. The new-build project has been named "Tuynen van Den Deyl" and contains 41 housing units, including 16 medium-price rental apartments and 25 medium-price owner-occupied single-family homes. The homes are subject to a weighted opinion under the Omgevingswet , as the City Council has previously determined that this is the case with the construction of at least 10 homes.

Alderman Housing, Ritske Bloemendaal is very pleased with the outcome, "The City Council has taken an important step by issuing a positive recommendation for the redevelopment of the old Den Deyl School. We look forward to working with the community to continue building a future-proof neighborhood with additional housing that will be of great importance to the home seekers in our village."
The developer will now start working on the final design. Then, as usual, the permit procedure will follow. We hope that work can begin in early 2026.
