Development Multifunctional complex and housing development Kerkehout
In 2021, Buurtvereniging Kerkehout en omstreken (BKO), s.v. Wassenaar and Kinderopvang Norlandia started working together on a vision for a new multifunctional building on the grounds of s.v. Wassenaar. All three parties will soon offer their activities in this new building.
Housing will be built on the vacant terrain of BKO and part of the field of s.v. Wassenaar. The aim is a large number of affordable homes, some of which will be in the social housing category. There will also be extra parking spaces in line with the current parking lot of s.v. Wassenaar.
Housing development and planning
Together with the housing corporation, a broad program of affordable housing is being pursued. The municipality is currently initiating further urban planning in cooperation with stakeholders. A communication and participation plan will be developed at a later date. The surrounding area will receive a letter with an invitation to a follow-up meeting in the coming months.
State of affairs
Fieldwork surveys for bats are currently taking place. This happens mostly in the evening. The researchers can be identified by the yellow vests. Planning and follow-up steps
The City Council will adopt the urban plan and financial frameworks for the development in question in early 2025. The municipality is also expected to adopt an environmental plan for this area by the end of 2025. As it looks now, construction of the multifunctional complex can begin in early 2026. Following this, construction of housing can begin in late 2026.
