Wassenaar parking policy

Together with residents, employees, business owners and visitors, we are working on new parking policies. This is important to ensure that we strike a good balance between parking, green space and play in both new and existing neighborhoods.

What?

Parking policy deals with parking in residential areas, work van parking, disabled parking spaces, parking fees, parking permits and bicycle parking. Parking is important for the accessibility of Wassenaar, but can also cause nuisance. Therefore, we want to make new parking policy in which we focus on these issues.

Why?

The current parking policy is outdated and does not take sufficient account of a good balance between parking and green space in both new and existing neighborhoods. This balance calls for creative mobility and parking solutions and thus a future-proof parking policy.

How?

In August 2023, residents, employees, business owners and visitors could indicate points of improvement about the parking policy through a survey. In addition, we are conducting interviews with interest groups and experts. We are also conducting a parking pressure survey throughout the municipality. In this way, we can develop new parking policies based on good information.
