Housing performance agreements signed
Wassenaarsche Bouwstichting, tenants' association De Wassenaarsche, housing association St. Willibrordus, tenants' interest association Rozenstein and the municipality of Wassenaar will continue to work together in the coming years to maintain and strengthen Wassenaar as an attractive place to live. This cooperation has been confirmed by the signing of performance agreements.
As every year, the municipality, housing corporations and tenant associations make agreements on affordability and availability of housing, sustainability and living environment. Important themes are development for social rent, local customization and livability.
Alderman Lia de Ridder (Housing) emphasizes the importance of housing, especially in this day and age. "The lockdown shows well how important housing and the living environment are. That is why we not only make policy, such as the housing vision recently submitted for inspection, but also concrete agreements with housing associations and tenant organizations. In this way, together we make attractive living in Wassenaar a reality."
Housing programming
In line with the new housing vision, arrangements have been made for cooperation with the corporations in the development for the municipal yard (behind the municipal office) and Kerkehout. It is important for both the municipality and the corporations that these locations are developed. The corporations are the main parties here for the realization of social rental housing.
Local customization and housing allocation
It has been agreed with the housing corporations that they will make optimal use of the possibility to offer local customization. This means that a quarter of the housing allocations will be allocated with priority to house seekers from Wassenaar. It has also been agreed that the corporations have the possibility to make use of the statutory allocation space for middle-income home seekers. The corporations use the free allocation space as much as possible for local customization, circulation and for the livability in neighborhoods.
Livability
The tenant organizations are an important platform. As residents of housing owned by both corporations, they have insight into what is happening in complexes and streets. Therefore, in 2021, neighborhood managers and corporations, together with the tenant organizations, will organize a pilot "going into the neighborhood together. The aim of the pilot is to engage in conversation with neighborhood residents and promote social engagement.
New multi-year agreements
The new housing vision "Grip op wonen" is available for public consultation until January 18, 2021. Based on this new housing vision, new multi-year performance agreements will be made with the housing corporations in the fall of 2021. These agreements provide the opportunity to look longer ahead and thus form the basis for cooperation in the coming years. The performance agreements for 2021 can be found on the websites of the housing corporations and www.wassenaar.nl.
