Grant Available for the Restoration of Small Historic Structures
Owners of small historic buildings in Wassenaar can apply for a grant to restore and preserve their property. The application must be submitted to the province of South Holland no later than July 31, 2026.
The grant is intended for the restoration of small national monuments and historic structures located on the grounds of a national monument. Examples include historic entrance gates, fences, garden walls, small bridges, fountains, tombs, bakehouses, statues, and other small monumental objects. Other historic structures with a maximum area of 30 m² may also be eligible.
Wassenaar also has many of these unique historic features, often as part of country estates, manors, and historic properties. Under this program, owners can contribute to the preservation of local heritage.
The province of South Holland reimburses up to 50% of eligible restoration costs, with a grant amount ranging from a minimum of €5,000 to a maximum of €25,000 per application. Don’t wait too long: a total of €350,000 is available for this program in 2026, and funds are limited—once they’re gone, they’re gone.
You can submit an application through the Province of South Holland. For the Requirements the application form, visit the Province of South Holland’s website at .
