Great, you're still Bob!
Snuggling up together with snacks and drinks. That's how we always imagine winter and the holidays. For many people, a cozy atmosphere also means alcoholic drinks. But think ahead about who will be the designated driver so that everyone gets home safely. One in five traffic accident victims is the direct result of alcohol in traffic. You don't want that to be you. So, are you heading out? First, discuss who will be the designated driver!
Facts and tips
Every year, alcohol-related traffic accidents cause between 82 and 157 deaths and more than 4,000 serious injuries nationwide. These figures are even higher if deceased drivers are included, which is often not the case at present. Please note: driving under the influence (including on a bicycle or scooter) is a criminal offense, for which you will always receive a criminal record. Fines can run into thousands of euros. Alderman , Wim Koetsier: “Let's end the year festively with family and friends. Enjoy each other's company and being together. Above all, let's end the year safely. Drive alcohol-free, whether in a car, on a bicycle, or on a scooter. Or arrange for a designated driver. Think about this before you leave. Don't think, 'I'll be fine. It's only a short drive home.' Most accidents happen within the first 6 minutes of a journey. So stay alcohol-free or arrange for a designated driver."
Together, we can make the Netherlands a little safer for traffic, even in the winter months. Together, we can make zero a priority.
