Facts and tips

Every year, alcohol-related traffic accidents cause between 82 and 157 deaths and more than 4,000 serious injuries nationwide. These figures are even higher if deceased drivers are included, which is often not the case at present. Drive alcohol-free, whether in a car, on a bicycle, or on a scooter. Or arrange for a designated driver. Think about this before you leave. Don't think, 'I'll be fine. It's only a short drive home.' Most accidents happen within the first 6 minutes of a journey. So stay alcohol-free or arrange for a designated driver."
