Update: temporarily very limited Avalex service due to snow and slippery conditions
Update Tuesday, January 6, 2026
Due to snowfall and the resulting slippery conditions, Avalex is unable to provide its full range of services today. They are now focusing primarily on emptying neighborhood and mini containers located on accessible (main) roads, with the emphasis on locations that are safely accessible to collection vehicles. In addition, they are doing their best to collect as much bulky waste as possible that was put out on Monday, January 5, as agreed. Avalex will only do this if it can be done safely. The recycling centers are still open for the time being. The situation will be reassessed tomorrow.
- If you live on a narrow road, you can help Avalex employees by placing the container on a (main) road that is easily accessible.
- Was your container supposed to be emptied today? Leave your container where it is, it may be emptied tomorrow.
- Is the neighborhood container full? Please dispose of your waste at another time.
- Did you have a bulky waste collection appointment on Monday, January 5? Leave the bulky waste where it is; it will be collected today or at another time as soon as possible.
As soon as it is safe enough, services will resume in full. Given the forecasts, it is still uncertain when this will be possible. Please keep an eye on the Avalex website for updates.
Apologies for the inconvenience!
