Making your premises more sustainable

Making a company or office building more sustainable increases comfort and is often financially attractive. There are also obligations for companies to become more sustainable.

Durable commitments

The Environmental Management Activities Decree requires companies and institutions to implement all energy-saving measures with a payback period of five years or less. This is the energy savings obligation. It applies to companies and institutions (Environmental Management Act establishments) that consume 50,000 kWh or 25,000 m3 of natural gas or equivalent per year or more. In addition, you must also report what energy-saving measures you have implemented. This is the information obligation.

In addition, by January 1, 2023, office buildings must have at least energy label C. This means a primary fossil energy consumption of no more than 225 kWh per m2 per year. If the building does not meet the requirements by then, you may no longer use it as an office as of January 1, 2023. This obligation is in the 2012 Building Code."
