Municipalities Preferential Rights Act

The Municipal Executive of Wassenaar decided to invoke the Municipal Preferential Rights Act (Wvg). On July 4, 2023, pursuant to Article 6 of the Wvg, they designated the Lange Kerkdam 1 parcel and the parcels located north of Maaldrift on both sides of Oude Trambaan to which Articles 10 to 15, 24 and 26 of the Wvg apply.

The municipality wants to prevent the Lange Kerkdam 1 plot and the land just north of Maaldrift on either side of Oude Trambaan from being alienated and the municipality from losing grip on the development of the area around Lange Kerkdam and in the Green Zone. For this reason, it is desirable to establish municipal preferential rights in advance. Owners of the plots of land in question must first offer them for sale to the municipality of Wassenaar if they wish to sell. The college submits the proposal for this designation decision to the council. All relevant documents are available for inspection at the town hall, Johan de Wittstraat 45 in Wassenaar.

The council's decision (Sept. 19, 2023) was announced to interested parties and published on Sept. 20 in the Municipal Gazette.
