Wassenaar residential care vision presented to housing associations and care organizations
On Thursday, March 5, Alderman Affairs and Housing, Ritske Bloemendaal, officially presented the new Residential Care Vision on behalf of the municipality of Wassenaar to housing associations and care organization Amarosa. The presentation took place during a festive gathering, where the partners involved came together for coffee and cake.
Connecting housing, Health support
The Residential Care Vision provides direction for policy in the coming years in the area of housing in combination with Health support. The vision focuses on residents who, in addition to housing needs, also have Health or support needs, such as vulnerable elderly people, people with disabilities, and informal caregivers. The goal is to create suitable living environments in which residents can live independently for as long as possible.
"With this residential care vision, we are taking an important first step toward future-proof living in Wassenaar. By better connecting housing, Health well-being, we are ensuring that residents, even those with care needs, can continue to live comfortably and independently in their familiar surroundings," said the Alderman.
Responding to developments in society
The residential care vision enables the municipality to respond more effectively to developments in society, such as increasing pressure on the housing market and the growing number of elderly people in Wassenaar. By investing in suitable and accessible housing, the municipality aims to support residents in continuing to live independently for longer, with Health support close at hand.
