If you are thinking about suicide
Do you ever think about suicide? Try talking about it with someone you trust. For example with a friend. Or call or chat anonymously with 113. Talking about it can help, even if you think nothing makes sense anymore.
Contact 113
You can contact 113 day or night. This is anonymous and usually free of charge:
- Call 113 (normal call charges).
- Or call 0800 - 0113 (free of charge).
- Or chat with someone at 113.co.uk.
Make an appointment at the doctor's office
Also make an appointment with your family doctor if you are thinking about suicide. The family doctor will arrange for a professional counselor to contact you. That counselor becomes your case manager.
The case manager can teach you how to deal with suicidal thoughts. And help you feel better again.
The personal story of someone from Wassenaar
The case managers in Wassenaar have already helped many people. A Wassenaar resident who wishes to remain anonymous tells us that he is still here because of the help of his case manager. When his partner passed away, he was soon doing very badly:
"My family doctor thought it was irresponsible for me to be home alone. She asked if someone could call me. Within a few days, the case manager contacted me. She did not let me out of her hands after that. When the acute danger of suicide passed, she guided me to a good psychiatrist for treatment of my depression."
