City Council Meeting on Prinsjesdag in The Hague

The Municipal Executive of Wassenaar meets every Tuesday at the police station on Hofcampweg. Prinsjesdag is the annual exception to this. On this special day, the meeting traditionally takes place outside the municipal boundaries, in The Hague on Lange Voorhout.

Every year, the municipality of The Hague invites local officials, representatives from major cities, the business community, and various institutions to attend the King’s procession and the speech from the throne at the Kloosterkerk. It is a great opportunity to meet fellow officials and engage in conversation with one another.

Mayor Leendert de Lange has now made it a tradition for the municipal executive to hold its meeting on-site on Prinsjesdag. On this festive day celebrating democracy, members of the new municipal executive thus connect national, regional, and Wassenaar-specific challenges.
