NATO summit June 24 and 25: modified traffic measures Wassenaar

On Tuesday, June 24 and Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the NATO Summit will take place in The Hague. Measures will also be taken in Wassenaar then to ensure security. This has implications for traffic in and around Wassenaar.

Adapted measures

Because of the NATO Summit, several traffic measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the delegations and the surrounding area. These measures are part of a national and regional safety operation, led by the national government, the police, the security region and Rijkswaterstaat, among others. In response to new safety developments, Wassenaar municipality has updated the traffic maps to provide insight into the traffic situation. These traffic maps include an overview with bicycle and car routes and specific traffic maps to visualize the important through routes.

Therefore, we ask everyone to plan their own route in advance whenever possible. By choosing a route in advance and taking bikes as much as possible, we can together ensure a safe and smooth passage. In this way, we avoid extra crowds. The municipality asks for your understanding for the temporary traffic measures.

Subject to change. Always allow for unforeseen traffic stops at all crossing points and bicycle tunnels.

The municipality itself has no influence on the measures and cannot make exceptions, grant waivers or issue other personalized customization.

This is an overview map. Check the project page for detailed Maps by mode of transportation.
