2021-2025 grant plan

Please note: As of January 1, 2025, the General Grant Ordinance 2025 applies, which has changed the situation regarding grant applications. Applications made in 2024 will still go according to the grant plan as described below. The website will soon be fully updated for grant applications from 2025 onwards.

A grant is a (temporary) financial contribution. The municipality provides grants to organizations that contribute to the achievement of social goals. Examples of these goals are: 'children grow up healthy and safe' and 'there is a diverse art and cultural offer for residents and visitors'. The activities must also be primarily aimed at the residents of Wassenaar.

The municipality distinguishes between structural (multi-year) subsidy and youth membership subsidy.

The 2021-2024 grant plan can be found on the official announcements website

And in the general regulation you can read the legal principles for both the municipality and the applicant.

How does it work?

As of today, it is no longer possible to submit an application based on the 2021-2025 Grant Plan. As of now, you can submit applications through the general grants page. All pending applications for the year 2024 and 2025 will still need to submit an application for determination. See further information below.

Account for the use of the grant and the determination of the grant.

General Requirements
For grants up to and including €5,000, the determination takes place when the grant is awarded. However, justification will be requested at random from this group.
For an annual subsidy higher than € 5,000, you must submit an application for determination to the municipality no later than 22 weeks after the subsidized activities have been performed. You must apply for this 'determination' yourself within this period. To this end you must submit a substantive report (showing the extent to which the activities for which the subsidy was granted have taken place) and a financial report (including in any case the final statement of the activity, explaining the cost items for which the subsidy was spent).
For subsidies of over € 50,000 you must also submit a profit and loss account with explanatory notes, a balance sheet for the past year (or the end of the past year) and an independent auditor's report.

Special Requirements
It is also possible that your grant decision contains additional Requirements . Of course, you must also adequately address these when submitting the justification.
