Meetings of the Central Electoral Committee (CSB) and Municipal Electoral Committee (GSB)

For the municipal elections on March 18, 2026, the Municipal Executive of Wassenaar will establish both a Central Electoral Office (CSB) and a Municipal Electoral Office (GSB). Both electoral offices have their own tasks, responsibilities, and sessions. Some of these sessions are open to the public.

Meetings of the Central Electoral Committee (CSB)

Submission of candidate lists

  • Date: February 2, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Location: Municipal office, Johan de Wittstraat 45, Wassenaar
  • Attendance: By appointment only for the representative of the political party
  • Explanation: Candidate lists and accompanying documents may be submitted on this day. This will only take place by appointment.

Examination of submitted candidate lists

  • Date: February 3, 2026
  • Time: 4:00 p.m.
  • Location: De Paauw Town Hall, Raadhuislaan 22, Wassenaar
  • Attendance: Not possible. This is a closed session.
  • Explanation: During this session, the Central Electoral Committee examines the submitted candidate lists. Minutes are taken of this session. 

Decision on the validity of candidate lists

  • Date: February 6, 2026
  • Time: 5:00 p.m.
  • Location: De Paauw Town Hall, Raadhuislaan 22, Wassenaar
  • Attendance: Possible. This is a public hearing.
  • Explanation: During this session, the CSB decides whether the submitted candidate lists are valid, which candidates may remain on the lists, and whether the name of the party (the designation) is correct and may be used. The candidate lists are also assigned a number during this meeting.

  • Time: 2:00 p.m.
  • Location: De Paauw Town Hall, Raadhuislaan 22, Wassenaar
  • Attendance: Possible. This is a public hearing.
  • Explanation: In this session, the CSB checks the results of the day of the vote count and, if necessary, instructs the GSB to investigate a possible error in the count.

Determination of results

  • Date: March 26, 2026
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.
  • Location: De Paauw Town Hall, Raadhuislaan 22, Wassenaar
  • Attendance: Possible. This is a public hearing.
  • Explanation: In this session, the CSB determines the final results of the election.

  • Attendance: Possible. This is a public hearing.
  • Explanation: The GSB counts the votes and then determines the total number of votes per list and per candidate.

What you need to know about a public hearing

If you wish to attend a public hearing, please report to reception, do not disrupt the proceedings, and follow the instructions of the staff. Please note that a hearing may be closed within a few minutes. This does not apply to the hearing on March 19, 2026.
