Social assistance benefit
For the Social assistance benefit benefit, the municipality of Wassenaar cooperates with the municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg. Therefore, please check the Leidschendam-Voorburg website for information on, for example, applying for assistance or reporting a change.
Social assistance benefit is regulated in the Netherlands by the Participation Act.
Applying for assistance
To apply for assistance, there are separate rules for young people, adults 27 and older, and self-employed workers.

Special assistance

You do not have to have Social assistance benefit to receive special assistance.

You may be able to get IOAW benefits if you became unemployed after your 50th birthday. And you don't have enough income to pay the bills.

You may be able to get ILOZ benefits if these 2 points are true for you:
- You are 55 years of age or older.
