Job opportunity campaign for job seekers asks the question, What If?...
A new campaign asks the question, "What if ... your dream job looks different than you think? And you could switch to a profession that is in high demand?" The What If campaign encourages job seekers to switch to occupations with greater job opportunities. The campaign runs until the end of this year in the labor market region of Zuid-Holland Centraal (Lansingerland, Leidschendam-Voorburg, Pijnacker-Nootdorp, Voorschoten, Wassenaar and Zoetermeer).
What If campaign excites job seekers and employers alike
The What If campaign was developed by the WerkgeversServicepunt Zuid-Holland Centraal (WSP ZHC) to excite job seekers to put their talents to good use in a job they have not yet considered. The campaign focuses on the stories of people who have made the switch and found their new dream job in a different profession. The campaign also asks employers to be open to new potential: highly motivated and capable people to fill vacancies, just with a different background.
Five sectors with many job openings
There are currently many job openings and opportunities in green, Health, transportation and logistics, construction and engineering, and retail. At the same time, due to the corona crisis, many people are losing their jobs and it is not always easy to find other work. In 2020, the number of vacancies in South Holland Central fell by 13.5%. Especially now it can be important to search more broadly than just in one's own profession. People who are currently employed can also come forward.
Counseling, retraining and in-service training
When transferring to a new job, what experience or education a person has had is of secondary importance. It is much more important whether someone has the right motivation and talents. The WerkgeversServicepunt Zuid-Holland Centraal and the municipalities in the region offer job seekers guidance in finding a new profession, bring them into contact with employers and offer opportunities for retraining and further education.
