Cleaning up dead animal
Different rules apply to the disposal of dead animals (carcasses), depending on the type of animal and the circumstances.
What to do
Dead animal in the water
Do you see dead fish or dead waterfowl in the water? Report this to the municipality. Do not remove these animals from the water yourself.
Dead animal along the road
Do you see a dead animal along the road or in another place? If so, alert the municipality.
Dead pet
Do not throw your dead pet in the trash. Not even if it is a small animal. Instead, you can do one of the following:
- You can take it away to the environmental street Avalex.
- You can have it buried or cremated.
- You can bury it in your own garden or on your own property. The grave must then be at least 75 centimeters deep. You may not wrap the dead animal in plastic or other substances harmful to the soil.
Dead hobby animal
Is your pony, goat or sheep dead? Report it immediately to the approved rendering company Rendac. This company collects the cadaver and processes it. Only the carcass of a horse may also be burned in a special pet crematorium. A hobby animal may not be buried on private property.
Injured or dead deer
Do you see an injured or dead deer along the road or in another place? If so, alert the police. The police will contact the fall game coordinator of the responsible game management unit. The fall game coordinator will remove the injured or dead roe deer.
