Use electricity wisely and help reduce the strain on the grid
The power grid is coming under increasing strain, especially at times when many people are using electricity at the same time. This happens particularly between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., when households return home and appliances are used simultaneously. This is also the case in Wassenaar. By limiting electricity consumption during these hours, we help prevent the power grid from becoming overloaded.
Tips for Reducing Electricity Usage
Try to use high-energy appliances such as the washing machine and dishwasher outside of peak hours, for example later in the evening, at night, or during the day when plenty of renewable energy is available, such as on sunny days. Turn appliances off completely instead of leaving them on standby.
Do you have a heat pump? If so, try to run it as evenly as possible and avoid using extra power during peak hours. This prevents peak loads on the power grid and ensures more efficient energy use.
