Use of Public Land

If you as a citizen, company or institution wish to occupy municipal land, you can file a notification or apply for a permit with the municipality. You can do this, for example, for placing a Waste container, a scaffold, a shed truck, a toilet cubicle or storing construction materials, such as sand, gravel, stones, and so on.

You always make a notification; the size determines whether you must also apply for a permit. See "How it works" for explanation of notification or permit. You will need a sketch of the location of use for both.

How does it work?

Large use from 16m2 or wider than 2.50 m (Permit)

The application must be received by the municipality at least 8 weeks before you wish to use the public land. If the application is submitted at a later date, it is possible that the permit has not yet been granted at the time you wish to use it. Please note: in the digital notification form, we ask you to include a drawing (sketch) showing the location where you wish to place the materials and any traffic measures that may be required.

Small use up to 15m2 or narrower than 2.50 m (Notification)

For uses smaller than 15 m2 and narrower than 2.50 m, general rules apply and a notification is sufficient. The notification must be received by the municipality at least 2 weeks before you wish to use the public land. If the notification is submitted at a later date, you run the risk that it will not be accepted. In the digital notification form we ask you to include a sketch or description of the location where you wish to place the materials.

If the use of public land during the execution of the work exceeds 15m², you still need to apply for a permit.
