Municipal Health Service (GGD)

Every municipality must promote general health care and fight infectious diseases. For this purpose, municipalities have established Municipal Health Departments(GGD). More information can be found at the GGD to which the municipality is affiliated.

In a disaster, the GGD works with the Medical Aid for Accidents and Disasters(GHOR).

If there is a national epidemic then the Center for Infectious Disease Control(CIb) coordinates and supports the municipality in this task.
