Moped speed limits
Within built-up areas, the maximum speed is 45 km/h when driving on the carriageway. Within built-up areas, a maximum speed of 30 km/h applies on a mandatory (moped) bike path.
The main idea behind these speed limits is that the speed differences between the various vehicles on the roadway and on the (moped) bike path should not be too large. This prevents possible irritations and dangerous situations (braking, overtaking).
Outside the built-up area, a maximum speed of 40 km/h applies on the mandatory (moped) bike path. On the carriageway, the maximum speed is also 45 km/h here.
