Wassenaar tackles regulatory burden: help us!
If you have ever requested or reported anything to the municipalities, you know that it can sometimes be quite complicated. There are a lot of rules and it is not always clear how they work. And then you have to find out where to go, submit the right information and wait for a response. The municipality wants to make this easier for you. Tell us what you think could be done better!
The municipality would like to be smarter about rules, simplify them, or even eliminate them. The municipality also wants to make procedures easier. By making them clearer, faster or smarter. For example, by not having to provide the same information every time, by making it easier to report something, or by removing the need for a permit. This will give residents and organizations more freedom of action and enable them to exert more influence on their environment.
What would you like to see different?
The municipality would like to hear what rules you think we should tackle first, what you would like to see changed. For example, applying for a permit for a renovation, making a monument more sustainable or getting a disabled parking space. Some of the rules are imposed by the province or the Rijksoverheid. Our influence as a municipality on these is limited. But we do deal with environmental permits, which are necessary for building or renovating. And about the General Municipal Regulations, which contain rules about public space.
Mail your ideas until April 15
Your suggestions and ideas will be included in the Deregulation Memorandum. This will contain proposals for modifying or abolishing municipal rules and their implementation. The City Council will make the final decision on which rules to adjust.
What could be better? What should stay the same? Suggestions can be mailed until April 15 to gemeente@wassenaar.nl, quoting "Deregulation."
