What do you do in your job / what does your day look like?
I have changed positions from Customer Contact Center employee to ICT Service Desk employee since last September. I work 4 days a week alternating between the office and working from home. A work day consists of handling phone calls from colleagues with various ICT problems, taking in and issuing hardware (hybrid laptop, cell phone, headset, home office screen and access card), handling tickets, keeping stock of hardware and other miscellaneous administrative matters.
What is your background? Where have you worked before?
I was born and raised in Leiden. At the ROC Leiden, I followed and obtained an advanced degree in Leisure & Hospitality. After that I worked in the hotel industry for a few years. Since November 2019 I have been working at the municipality of Wassenaar.
What do you encounter in your work: what is difficult and what makes it fun?
In my previous position at the Customer Contact Center, I had a lot of direct contact with residents and business owners via phone, email and social media. If the phone was glowing red and you provided the service that could, and you helped a happy resident/business owner it did a lot of good! In my current position, I enjoy solving various questions and problems from colleagues. I have progressed to this position with no ICT background and I am still learning every day!
Can you name something that makes your work special and tell something about it?
When your colleagues can get back to work or resolving tickets within the target time gives me satisfaction.
Why did you choose the municipality of Wassenaar, what do you like about it? And what makes the work diverse and challenging?
I feel at home within the municipality of Wassenaar. I enjoy working and I have great colleagues!

If you are looking for a fun place to work, you are in the right place at the municipality of Wassenaar. There are plenty of advancement opportunities within the municipality!
What do you think is the most beautiful place in Wassenaar, where do you like to come?
In the summer I love coming to the beach in Wassenaar! Enjoying a day in the sun or having a drink after work, heavenly! I also like to visit the center of Wassenaar for a nice lunch or to do some shopping.
What is your biggest hobby and what is your home situation like?
I myself live just outside the center of Leiden. I don't really have any particular hobbies, I just like to enjoy life by doing fun things in my free time with my boyfriend, friends and family!
