Parking

Wassenaar has no paid parking. However, there are three parking disc zones, indicated by traffic signs and blue lines. Different rules apply for parking at Meijendel nature reserve and Wassenaarse Slag. See the information on this page.

Parking disc zones

These are the three parking disc zones:

  • The parking disc zone in the center, it applies from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the maximum allowed parking time is usually 2 hours, near the Langstraat and on the Luifelbaan itself, the maximum parking time is only ½ hour. The permitted parking duration in the parking garages is 2 hours.
  • The parking disc zone in the vicinity of Duinrell amusement park, this applies on all days of the week 8:00-21:00, the maximum allowed parking time in this zone is 2 hours.
  • The parking disc zone at Stadhoudersplein, it applies from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the maximum allowed parking time is ½ hour, only in the covered parking area next to the Albert Hein the allowed parking time is 1 hour.

Parking garages

There are two parking garages in Wassenaar; under the Luifelbaan and under HEMA. Here the parking disc sin also applies with a maximum parking time of 2 hours. 

When parking, note:

  • Read the signs carefully. On what days is the parking disc zone in effect? During what times? What is the maximum parking time?
  • Use the so-called parking disc, set on it the time of the start of parking and place the parking disc in a clearly visible place behind the windshield of the vehicle so that it can be easily read from the outside.
  • Vehicles may only be parked within a parking disk zone in areas marked with blue markings. If these markings are missing, no vehicle may be parked at the spot.
  • Trailers etc. may not be parked in Wassenaar within designated parking disc zones.

Parking of caravan etc.

It is prohibited to park one or more camper vans, caravans, sailboats or other vessels, vehicles or means of transport for recreational purposes on a road for more than 72 hours.

Parking Berkheiveld near downtown

The Berkheiveld on Berkheistraat does not have a parking disc zone. You can use this parking lot if you want to visit the center at your leisure. You do not have to pay attention to the parking time. On Tuesdays, parking is not possible here due to the weekly market.

Parking Meijendel

Parking Wassenaarse Slag

At the Wassenaarse Slag you can park in parking lot De Kuil and parking lot Zeelust. It is not possible to park with horse trailers on the parking lots at the Wassenaarse Slag.
