Parking of trailers and commercial vehicles

A company car may not always park in a neighborhood. Commercial vehicles are not always identifiable and therefore not listed as such in the law. Therefore, vehicle dimensions are important. Dimensions of vehicles are much easier to control and so rules can be made on this basis. They can be found in the General Local Bye-Law (APV).

The APV states that parking a vehicle longer than 6 meters or higher than 2.40 meters within the built-up area is prohibited between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m., except in a designated place.

Placing trailers, caravans and other vehicles not intended for "daily" transportation on public roads is allowed if it does not continue for more than 3 consecutive days in the same place or with any change of location. This is to allow people to prepare the caravan or trailer for vacations or something similar. If such a vehicle is found to be on the public road for more than 3 days, the municipality may have the vehicle towed away.
