Participatory pizza night for youth at the Youth Center
On Wednesday, April 2, the second pizza night for young people took place at Youth Center Upstairs. It was a fun and informal gathering where children and youth could meet, enjoy a delicious pizza and share ideas about the future of their congregation.
This first pizza night edition was two years ago at the municipal office and this year it was able to take place at Youth Center Upstairs. The first meeting gathered valuable input at the time. The youth at the time clearly indicated what they needed and this feedback led to the creation of the youth center: its own meeting place for youth, where they can relax, start new initiatives and come together.
Thinking along
During the evening, extra attention was paid to participation. On the table was a large pizza made of paper, with pizza points drawn out that represented different topics, such as housing, leisure and safety. The youth were given sticky note pads in different colors and could stick their ideas on the appropriate pizza point. This interactive concept provided a fun way to gather input while actively engaging youth in important topics that affect them. It provided valuable insights and made everyone feel heard.
Alderman youth policy Ronald Zoutendijk emphasized the importance of children and young people in the development of the municipality: "Your ideas and wishes are important for the future of our municipality. Seize this opportunity, have your say and let us know what's going on. I am curious how you look at the municipality and how we can make it even more fun for children and young people!"
