Prince Frederick Parks Route

A ring road connected the estates of Prince Frederick of the Netherlands, brother of King William II, in the 19th century. This created a route that led past beautiful locations and attractive views of the prince's nine estates. The winding road runs through the current municipalities of Wassenaar and Voorschoten. Prince Frederik's ring road - or rather the system of ring roads - is unique in the Netherlands. Many of them were specially commissioned by Prince Frederik or embellished by his architects.
