Have you paid certain bills late or not paid a number of times? If so, the Vroeg Eropaf team will be notified. A professional social worker will then contact you to help you.
What is Vroeg Eropaf?
Vroeg Eropaf is a team of professional social workers. They help people who are having trouble paying bills. By resolving payment arrears as early as possible, they prevent your money problems from getting worse.
Vroeg Eropaf works on behalf of Wassenaar municipality and from the Wassenaar Social Team. The team includes social workers from these organizations:
- Kwadraad social work
- Wassenaar Social Support Foundation (SMOW).
What can Vroeg Eropaf do for you?
A Vroeg Eropaf social worker will discuss with you why you are behind in your payments. Together, you figure out how to prevent your money problems from getting worse.
The social worker can also find out for you:
- Whether you are entitled to extra money, such as an allowance
- Whether you can repay a bill in parts (payment arrangement)
The counselor can also help you put your records in order.
When does Vroeg Eropaf receive a message about someone?
Vroeg Eropaf will be notified if you are late or fail to pay these bills on a number of occasions:
- rent (only if you rent from a housing association)
- electricity and gas
- water
- health insurance
How does Vroeg Eropaf obtain your data?
Wassenaar municipality receives information from housing corporations, energy companies, health insurers and the water company. The municipality passes on your information to Vroeg Eropaf. This is allowed under the Municipal Debt Assistance Act (Wgs).
Why did the municipality start Vroeg Eropaf?
The municipality of Wassenaar started Vroeg Eropaf because the municipality wants to help residents with payment arrears. By law, this is also a duty of municipalities.
