Local Approach to Insulation

You have received a letter from the municipality concerning subsidies for insulating your home. You can read the subsidy scheme.

You are eligible for a housing subsidy if your home Requirements the following Requirements :

has an energy efficiency rating of D, E, F, or G, or
at least two poorly insulated building components (such as a roof, a wall, a window, or a floor)
The WOZ value of a home may not exceed €836,000 (as of January 1, 2022).
Is your WOZ value higher than €836,000? If so, you may also be eligible for a subsidy. To apply, please send an email to lai@wassenaar.nl. Applications will be processed as long as sufficient funds are available.
The costs of eDNA trace analysis are also eligible for a grant. A maximum subsidy of €10,000 is available for all investigations that yield a positive test result. Individual applications may be submitted within this budget. What is eDNA trace analysis? This is an investigation that determines whether protected animals, usually bats, are present in or around the exterior of a home. To do this, DNA traces from the surrounding area are analyzed.

There is a lot of interest in the insulation subsidy. The municipality is making additional funds available. If you have received a letter with a unique code, you can apply via the Regional Energy Help Desk (REL) website at. If you haven’t received a letter but think you may be eligible for the subsidy, please send an email to lai@wassenaar.nl.

Grant of up to €1,500.

The Regional Energy Help Desk administers this grant on behalf of the municipality of Wassenaar. You will receive additional information on how to insulate your home and apply for the grant through the Regional Energy Help Desk.

If you are eligible for a subsidy scheme for making your home more sustainable, you will have received a letter about this from the municipality.

Processing your personal data

What data do we process?

Name, address, place of residence, telephone number, income information, solely to determine whether you meet the income requirements (up to 120% of the legal social minimum).

Why do we process this data?

Your information is needed to review your application, communicate with you and - if you are eligible - issue the grant.

Who has access to your data?

Only employees of the municipality involved in assessing the grant. Income data will not be shared with third parties. The implementing organization REL receives from us only your contact information and the outcome of the test (target group A or B). REL will therefore not have access to income data.

How can you submit your data?

You can submit your information using the municipality's secure web form. You may also choose to do so by email or verbally, but we recommend using the secure web form whenever possible.

Retention period

Your data will not be kept longer than necessary for the implementation and accountability of the grant program and in accordance with archival legislation.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data to the extent possible within the legal obligations.

Energy-saving measures

Energy conservation measures make your home more comfortable and lower your energy bills. But you need money to make your home more energy efficient and sustainable. For some measures there are subsidies, which will save you money. There are also loans with favorable Requirements and you may be able to borrow extra money through your mortgage.

On the Energieloketten.nl website, you can complete the “ energy subsidy check.” Once you’ve completed it, you’ll receive an information package containing all the details about the selected subsidies. That way, you’ll know exactly which ones you’re eligible for!

ISDE subsidy

You can get a grant from the state for:

insulating your home, including putting in insulating glass
a (hybrid) heat pump
a solar water heater

This is the Investment Subsidy for Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (ISDE). You get about a 15% subsidy. But are you going to take two measures to your home? For example, will you take insulating glass and buy a heat pump? Then you get 30% subsidy on both. You apply for the subsidy afterwards, within 24 months after the first measure has been carried out and paid for.

Solar panel schemes

You cannot get a subsidy for solar panels. What schemes are there?

You can take advantage of the Energy Savings Loan. This loan has a low interest rate, no closing costs and the option to repay early at no additional cost.
Until recently, you paid VAT when you bought solar panels for the first time, which you could then claim back. Since Jan. 1, 2023, the VAT rate on solar panels is 0% if they are installed on or near your home. Read more about the Requirements and how to apply on the tax authorities' website.

Borrowing money

If you don't have enough savings, borrowing money for energy-saving measures may be for you. Check with your own bank to see what options are available. Or consider the National Heat Fund's Energy Savings Loan. This loan has no interest up to a certain income, then a low interest rate, no closing costs and the option to repay early at no additional cost.
