Elections, voting pass
Are you eligible to vote? Then you will automatically receive your personal voting pass by mail no later than 14 days before the election. With this voting pass and a valid ID, you can vote in any polling station within your municipality. Do you want to vote in a different municipality than where you are registered? Then you must apply for a voter's card.
Voting with your voting card
On election day, bring the following to the polling place:
- Your voting card
- A proof of identity (may be expired up to 5 years)
At the polling station, voting is as follows:
- You will receive a ballot paper from a poll worker.
- In the voting booth, use a red pencil to color the box before the name of the candidate of your choice.
- You fold the ballot so that your choice is not visible.
- You put the ballot in the ballot box.
Voting is secret. The arrangement of the voting booths ensures that no one can see who you are voting for. Only people with physical disabilities are allowed assistance in the voting booth.
Not received or lost a voting pass?
Did you not receive a voting pass or did you lose it? Then you can request a replacement voting pass from your municipality.
