At least 14 days before an election, if you are eligible to vote, you will receive a personal voting pass at home. With this voting pass(es) and a suitable ID, you can vote in any polling station within your municipality. Do you want to vote in a different municipality than the one in which you are registered? Then you must apply for a voter's card.

How does it work?

With your voting card and proof of identity, you can vote at a polling station on election day. Your ID may be expired up to 5 years.

At the polling station, you will receive a ballot paper from one of the polling officials. On this you can choose your candidate in the voting booth using a red pencil. You do this by completely or partially coloring the box before the name red. Have you made your choice? Then fold the ballot paper so that your choice is not visible. Then put the ballot in the ballot box.

Voting is secret. The arrangement of the voting booths at the polling place must be such that no one can see who you are voting for. Only people with physical disabilities are allowed assistance in the voting booth.

What to do

Did you not receive a voting pass or did you lose your voting pass? Then you can request a replacement voting pass from your municipality.
