Reporting lost or found items
- If you have lost or found something, you can report it to the municipality. You do not have to report it to the police.
- Note: You do need to report it to the police if you think it is theft.
We do not have an online website to see if your lost item has been reported. After your report via online digital, we will see if your item has been found. It may be in our custody or in the finder's home.

Report lost or found object
You file a declaration with the municipality.
Keeping found or lost property
After the report, you can choose to keep the found object yourself. You can also deposit the found object with the municipality. Ask for proof of this. Has the municipality found your lost object? Then you will receive a call when the municipality thinks your object has been found. Does the municipality have your object? Then you can take the object with you.

Report stolen object
Always go to the police to report a stolen item. You can do so in person at the police station, but often through an online report.

Becoming the owner of a found object
When you file the report, you can indicate that you want to become the owner of the found object. If the owner does not pick up the item within one year, you are the owner of the item.
If you have given the object for safekeeping to the municipality, you can only become the owner if the object is worth more than €450. If the owner does not collect the object within one year, you must report to the municipality within one month after that year.

Is for registering lost and found items in our system. For insurance purposes, you need it for lost items. For found items you need it to obtain ownership. Value up to 450 euros for 3 months. Value more than 450 euros for 12 months.
