Foster child care reporting

If you are caring for and raising a foster child for an extended period of time, report it to the municipality. This also applies to institutions caring for and raising a foster child.

How does it work?

  • The municipality looks at what help and Health is best for the child.
  • If this is foster care and you are not yet an official foster parent, an assessment is made to see if you are suitable as a foster parent. This is done by a foster care organization.
  • The foster care organization will apply for a certificate of no objection from the Child Protection Council on your behalf .
  • If you are allowed to become a foster parent to the child, you may receive compensation. You will also receive support from the foster care organization.

For more information about becoming a foster parent, visit the Child Welfare Council site.
