Welcome to Wassenaar
You will be working for a small, distinctive municipality. A unique part of the Netherlands, home to some 28,000 people. Wassenaar is situated amidst lush greenery on the coast of South Holland, right next to the administrative capital of The Hague, and boasts a diverse population; for example, one in five residents has an international background. Wassenaar is a very diverse municipality, featuring beautiful estates, a beach, nature and water extraction areas, residences, and the U.S. Embassy.
Like every other municipality in the Netherlands, we perform a wide variety of tasks such as: implementation of laws such as the Social Support Act, the Participation Act and youth aid. The housing of schools, sustainability and energy transition, zoning plans, housing projects, providing subsidies to sports associations, swimming pool and library, among others. The organization of participation and information, public order & safety or the mobilization of volunteers for social goals such as the reception of over 900 asylum seekers.
